Special Events

We hope you plan to join us at our next 2018 event:

Green Up Day Festival at Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op

Saturday May 5th from noon - 3PM.
After sap wagons and sugaring, Green Up Day is another sign of spring in Vermont. When you’ve finished your annual neighborhood green up, pull off your gloves, hose off your mud boots, and stop by the Bread Loaf Section’s display table at MNFC.
Meet our volunteers, view maps, the latest GMC publications, learn about the Long Trail and enter a drawing to win a selection of GMC merchandise. Hope to see you there! Directions

Walking the Coast to Coast Path

Featured Speakers: Deb Van Schaack & Nancy Custer Carroll
Deb and Nancy shared their images and stories of their fifteen-day self-guided walk on the 192-mile, unmarked and unofficial Coast to Coast Walk across England in September 2017. Through three national parks from the Irish Sea to the North Sea, Deb and Nancy encountered sun, wind, rain, magnificent countryside, thousands of sheep and some very fine folk with whom to walk and share a pint at the end of the day. Thank you, Deb & Nancy, for a presenting this program to 130 attendees!

The 2017 GMC Annual Meeting in Addison County was hosted by our Bread Loaf Section on the weekend of June 9-11.

We, the Bread Loaf Section, rock!! Thanks to our more than 30 local volunteers! Their willingness to volunteer during the months of planning & preparation, time and effort dedicated to this weekend is very much appreciated. Even before the event ended, many of us received many thanks and rave reviews from participants -- how much they appreciated all that went into it and how much they enjoyed themselves.
